Beta terms of service

August is a personal assistant you can ask to remember and follow through on responsibilities. The beta is unfinished and may contain errors, delays, or unavailable features. We may change, pause, or end beta functionality to protect users or improve the service.

August must not be relied on for emergencies or as a substitute for professional legal, medical, financial, or other regulated advice. Do not use it where a missed message or incorrect result could threaten a person’s safety.

You must be at least 18, provide accurate signup information, protect access to your phone and account, and promptly tell us about suspected unauthorized access. An invite is personal and may not be sold or transferred.

Your request authorizes only the action reasonably described by that request. August may ask for confirmation before consequential, ambiguous, irreversible, or materially changed actions. Connected services remain subject to their own terms and permissions.

Do not use August to break the law, harm or deceive others, evade access controls, obtain data you are not authorized to access, distribute malware, or interfere with the service. Do not submit another person’s sensitive information unless you have a lawful reason and their permission where required.

A paid plan renews monthly at the price shown before checkout until you cancel. You must affirmatively agree to the renewal terms before a charge. You can cancel online through the billing controls in your account; cancellation stops future renewal and access continues through the paid period unless the checkout terms state otherwise.

If you believe a charge is incorrect, contact charlie@tryaugust.app. Refunds are provided when required by law and otherwise may be considered based on the circumstances. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be waived.

You keep ownership of content you provide. You give August permission to process that content only as needed to provide, secure, and support the service as described in the Privacy Policy. Disconnecting an account stops new access through that connection but does not automatically erase information already incorporated into your August account.

We provide the beta on an “as available” basis and do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. We will use reasonable care, but provider outages and experimental behavior can affect results. You remain responsible for reviewing important information, approvals, commitments, and external actions.

You may stop using August and request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or end access for security, abuse, nonpayment, legal requirements, or material breach of these terms. We will provide notice when reasonably possible.

We will identify material changes and request renewed acceptance when required. California law governs these terms, without overriding consumer protections that apply where you live. Courts with lawful jurisdiction may hear disputes.
